“Go on! Go back and grow up! But I’m warning you, once you’re grown up you can never come back.” – Peter Pan

Peter Pan’s Flight is modeled after the original in Disneyland Resort in Southern California which was one of the original opening day attractions in 1955. I can’t say that me and my family ride this every time, but if we pass by it and the wait time is low, we definitely take the jump into Neverland!

Upon entering, you are transported into the world of J.M. Barrie’s beloved tale. As you’re standing in line waiting for your adventure you will encounter a lot of detail and some playful things that help bring the story of Peter Pan to life. From the children’s bedroom to the starry night sky the attention to detail is remarkable.

You will board a flying pirate ship and fly high above the streets of London and across starlight skies. You visit some of the iconic Neverland locations such as mermaid’s lagoon, Skull Rock, and the Lost Boys’ hideout. Beware as you might also see Peter Pan battling it out with Captain Hook.

Each scene brings home the spirit of the beloved story. Whether you are reliving your childhood memories or discovering the magic of Neverland for the first time, Peter Pan’s Flight offers an unforgettable journey and tale. So let your imagination soar to new heights in the world of Neverland!

9. The Jungle Cruise

Question: Have you ever seen the backside of water?

The World Famous Jungle Cruise Tours has it’s riders jump into a canopied tramp steamer to navigate the rivers of Asia, South Africa, and South America. You will experience exotic wildlife, mysterious ruins, and other interesting surprises during your time on the murky water.

The lively sounds of the jungle and the cheerful banter of the skipper has always created an atmosphere that me and my family have enjoyed for years, and continue to do so. We always make time for this attraction, sometimes more than once.

Through the witty storytelling of the skipper, the mischievous natives, and legendary beasts, you’ll find yourself laughing often at the jokes and puns. Who doesn’t enjoy some good laughs from time to time? The skipper’s lively commentary adds that extra layer of entertainment value, keeping all guests engaged from start to finish.

This attraction is family friendly and has no height or age requirement.

The attraction does a great job of making you feel immersed, as if you are actually in the deep jungles on dangerous rivers. So make sure to grab your pith helmet, hop aboard your tramp steamer, and get ready to take an adventure through the untamed wilderness of the Jungle Cruise!

Just remember, the jungle always gets the last laugh!

If you find yourself in the area and in search of some food, definitely check out Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd Skipper Canteen! It is in the same spirit of the ride, so it is definitely a fun dining experience. I go over it in: Best Restaurants in Magic Kingdom!

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has always been a staple ride for me and my family. Who doesn’t enjoy a chance at some friendly competition? It is also suitable for all ages.

Prepare to blast off into an intergalactic adventure aboard your own XP-37 space cruiser. As you walk through the queue line, I mean Star Command Center, you will learn that you are tasked with helping Buzz and his friends in defeating the evil Emperor Zurg.

As you board your XP-37 space cruiser you are thrust into action and expected to complete the mission. You are armed with a laser cannon that has full 360 degrees capabilities so that you can blast all your targets away. These targets are scattered all around the very interactive attraction. Haunted Mansion Disney World

7. Haunted Mansion

Boo!

Haunted Mansion is not a thrilling ride, but maybe more of chilling ride (no pun intended). This iconic mansion is nestled in the shadows of Magic Kingdom and offers happy haunts with spine-tingling surprises around every corner. This is also a great option if you and your party want to escape the heat for a little bit!

As you make your way through the interactive queue line (make sure to pay attention to all the details) you will board a “Doom Buggy” where you are greeted by the disembodied voice of your Ghost Host. Big Thunder Mountain Rollercoaster

5. Big THunder Mountain Railroad

Howdy folks!

Coming in at number five on my list of best rides at Magic Kingdom has to be Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

During The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness you are taken back to the 1850s during an era of frontier towns and the gold rush. The charm of the old west is everywhere from the weathered wooden buildings to the vintage mining equipment scattered throughout. However, odd things were happening around this town and mine.. trains tend to take off and race through the tunnels on their own!

When you arrive at the Big Thunder Mining Company you will slowly descend into the abandoned mine shaft where you will soon board your train. As your train pulls out you will be greeted with the views of the rugged frontier landscape before being shot through twists, turns, and sudden drops.

Throughout your train ride you will be dodging dynamite blasts and falling boulders as you are whisked away through the canyons of the frontier, down dark tunnels, over rickety bridges, and through the streets of Tumbleweed, a ghost town.

This attraction does have a height requirement of 40in (102cm) or taller for young pioneers. This is also a faster rollercoaster that can be pretty bumpy at times.

If you are an enjoyer of rollercoasters and want to feel like a true pioneer blazing a trail through uncharted territory then this is a ride for you!

The mine train seems to be a favorite among a lot of Disney enthusiasts and for the right reasons.

As you enter you are stepping into a small quaint village where Snow White and her friends reside. The charming details throughout the queue line set the theme of an enchanting adventure ahead. Before boarding you can also try your hand at jewel sorting and make sure to wash them at water spigots to hear some tunes!

Once you get into your mine cart and you are sent on your way, you will be met with a panoramic view of Fantasyland and the vibrant landscape. You will experience twists, hairpin turns, and unexpected surprises. There is a nice balance between excitement and charm throughout the ride.

The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is set apart by the innovative ride system and immersive storytelling. Your mine cart will teeter from left to right, adding an extra layer of excitement, while the dwarfs and interactive scenes along the way bring the classic tale to life in vivid detail. The magic of Snow White’s world will surround you at every turn, from the singing of the working dwarfs to the wicked witch in the forest.

Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom

3. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (Splash Mountain)

As much as my family and I loved Splash Mountain and enjoyed our time with Br’er Rabbit, we are excited to experience the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!

This attraction is receiving a rebranding as a musical adventure inspired by the Disney film The Princess and the Frog. Disney explains that riders with join Princess Tiana and jazz-loving alligator Louis on their journey through a shimmering bayou as they prepare for a spirited celebration during Mardi Gras season.

The ride will have a height requirement of 40in (102cm) or taller.

The attraction is set to open its gates June 28, 2024!

So, get ready to experience the wonder and enchantment of the bayou firsthand! Until then, we’ll keep dreaming of the adventures that await in the mystical world of New Orleans and eagerly anticipate the magic that awaits around the bend.

With the hype and poise to be a standout attraction, just as Splash Mountain was, I have to leave this at number three on my best rides at Magic Kingdom list!

TRON Lightcycle at Magic Kingdom

2. TRON Lightcycle / Run

TRON is a new attraction at Magic Kingdom and requires guests to virtual queue. There is currently no standby queue like most rides have. I figured I should warn readers before going out of your way for the attraction if you have not joined the virtual queue.

TRON is a lot of fun for us thrill seekers and is considered to be one of the fastest coasters in any Disney theme park around the world!

The new, sleek, futuristic design and pulsating music set the stage for the adrenaline pumping ride that awaits you. As you make your way through the queue you become surrounded by high-tech theming and elements that really put you into the TRON universe of digital racing.

The real excitement will begin once you are on your Lightcycle anticipating capturing the win for your team. You take off and speed through the neon-lit corridors of the Grid twisting and turning creating a exhilarating experience. The innovative ride system and cutting-edge technology create a sense of speed and immersion that is nearly unmatched.

By the end of the ride you will feel as if you took part in one of high-speed races from the TRON universe.

This attraction does require all riders to be 48in (122cm) or taller.

It does not matter if you are a fan of the TRON franchise or simply a thrill seeker this is a ride for you! Gear up, hop on your Lightcycle, and get ready to speed through the world of futuristic digital racing!

Space Mountain Tunnel

1. Space Mountain

Next stop: Outer space!

Personally, this a must-ride for me and my family anytime we visit Magic Kingdom. Whether you are a thrill seeker, lover of anything outer space, or just want a cool experience then this is a ride you must fit into your schedule!

From the moment you step into the queue line you are transported into a futuristic world of space travel and intergalactic exploration. The ambient music, dimly lit corridors, and sights to see make you feel like you are floating through space and sets the stage for what will be an exhilarating journey through the stars.

You will board a small rocket-shaped coaster vehicle in groups of three before being launched into pure darkness experiencing twists, turns, and sudden drops. The unpredictability of the ride will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

As a warning the entire experience of this rollercoaster is in the dark. If that is an issue for you or anyone in your party then I would avoid this one or have them hangout in the gift shop where riders will exit.

If you have little space explorers that want to traverse the cosmos then they must be 44in (120cm) or taller.

In the end, if you are someone that craves a good adrenaline rush or simply a good dose of imagination then Space Mountain is a must-ride attraction for you!

Buckle up, blast off, and prepare for the ride of lifetime!
