Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge Lobby

Lodging within the Animal Kingdom

The rooms at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge are designed to reflect the rich African heritage, covered with authentic African art and inspired by the natural beauty of the continent. I personally love the detail that is found within these rooms! Guests can choose from a variety of room types, including standard rooms (Resort View), pool view rooms (Water View), and the highly coveted savanna view rooms, which offer a direct view of the resort’s wildlife areas where giraffes, zebras, and other animals roam freely. What other resort can say they offer the same thing? The spacious, well designed rooms and suites cater to the needs of all guests, ensuring comfort and luxury amidst an exotic setting!

Uzima Pool

Amenities

The resort boasts a wide range of amenities designed to enhance the guest experience.

The Uzima Pool, with its 11,000-square-foot zero-entry pool, is a refreshing oasis that features a 67-foot-long waterslide and whirlpool spas. For a more tranquil experience, the Samawati Springs Pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village offers a similar atmosphere, complete with a thrilling waterslide and children’s play area.

If the kids did not get all their energy out at the parks then they can enjoy a typical playground at Hakuna Matata. Or maybe they just need something to do on your day off from the parks!

Near The Mara, that is mentioned below, guests can find Pumbaa’s Fun and Games Arcade where they can try their hand at classic arcade games.

If you and your companions are looking to discover the artist within and paint a personal masterpiece then Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has that covered too. Every Wednesday between 1:00PM and 3:00PM (sign-up starting at 12:45PM) guests can pay $35 per guest to leave Disney with a painting as a memento of their stay! They do say that the painting experience is best suited for guests aged 12 and up, just a heads up.

Don’t worry fitness enthusiasts, there is also a full workout facility to continue getting those crucial workouts in.

Complete your evening with a marshmallow roast around a campfire before enjoying an outdoor screening of a popular Disney film! Movies Under the Stars is open to all guests and occur on select evenings, weather permitting. The schedules are subject to change or cancellation without prior notice. It also can vary by resort so if that is an interest then ask a cast member at the front desk and they can give you a schedule!

Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge

Dining

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge hosts some of the most distinctive dining experiences within Walt Disney World Resort, where guests can savor a blend of African, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisines. The menus will be linked below if you are interested! If any of the restaurants are an interest for you and your companions then make sure to grab a dining reservation!

Jiko – The Cooking Place presents a fine dining experience with a menu inspired by the rich flavors of Africa, complete with an impressive selection of South African wines.

For a more casual dining atmosphere, Boma – Flavors of Africa offers a family-friendly buffet that takes guests on a culinary journey across the continent. This is a highly recommended restaurant not only from myself, but also other Disney enthusiasts!

The Mara is a quick-service location that provides convenient and delicious options for guests on the go or guests that just want a sweet snack. Specifically guests can find mainly bakery items and fresh fruit here.

Moving on to Sanaa, one of my personal favorites within the resort, offers a fusion of African cuisine with Indian flavors. One of the best perks about dining here is guests have the opportunity to enjoy stunning views of the savanna while they dine!

If you or your companions are in search of a refreshing beverage within Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge then guests can find just that at Cape Town Lounge and Wine Bar, Sanaa Lounge, Victoria Falls Lounge, or even at the pools!

Minnie Van Lyft

While the allure of the lodge itself is compelling, its proximity to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park allows guests easy access to continue their adventure into the heart of Disney’s wildest theme park. Furthermore, the resort offers transportation to other Disney parks and attractions, ensuring that the magic is never too far away. Guests can take the Disney Bus, or ride in style with Minnie Van which is available via the Lyft app. Who wouldn’t want to arrive to their destination in a Minnie Mouse themed ride?!
